In seismically upgrading two classrooms an opportunity was taken to provide rich and varied contemporary learning spaces. Spaces are provided for making a mess, for quiet individual work, for collaboration, being private acoustically separated and coming together as a group.

Improved planning provides extra space to undertake these different activities. Careful choices of natural materials and neutral colours reinforce these different spaces. A high level of acoustic absorption is provided throughout, including a floating cloud helps reinforce a focused quiet independent reading area.
